On June 3rd, PAR University of Applied Sciences hosted the interactive webinar “Skills in Tourism and the Blue Economy – Developing an Innovative Curriculum” as part of the CodeBLUE project.
The session was held on Zoom to allow participation from across the country.
The programme featured two presentations. Sunčana Doričić from PAR University introduced the CodeBLUE project and Dr. Frane Urem, leader of the MareSkill project, then shared that project’s impact, activities, and lessons learned.
The presentations opened into a wider discussion bridging academic and industry perspectives, with much of the conversation centred on marine pollution, tourism’s seasonal reliance, and sustainability in the Croatian context.
Participants confirmed strong interest in addressing structural challenges in the marine and tourism sectors — and a genuine need to tackle them through upskilling.
