Coastal and maritime tourism is a key pillar of Europe’s blue economy—but blue economy perspectives are still underrepresented in tourism and services education. CodeBLUE addresses this gap by bringing together higher education and innovation partners from across Europe to develop modern, interdisciplinary learning pathways that support sustainability, climate resilience, and the green and digital transition.
The project aims to transform tourism education by improving its quality and relevance, fostering interdisciplinarity, and equipping students, educators, and practitioners with future-ready competences for sustainable coastal and maritime tourism.
📌 Key outcomes include:
- Mapping skills needs and education gaps in blue-economy tourism
- A modular curriculum and open educational resources (OERs)
- Pilot trainings and training-of-trainers activities
- Strategies to strengthen university–business–policy cooperation.
Stay tuned for updates as CodeBLUE shapes the future of tourism education for the blue economy!
